Out of all the Wyndham Hotels I've stayed at the Wingate is one of the top in Edmonton. It's only derivative is the location, as its sits on a 1 way coming into Edmonton. The restraunt just out front far surpasses the other fares at most all other locations. I recommend the Lasagne and Cod. The only thing a little disappointing was the non delivery to your room. Instead I had to walk across the parking lot and pick it up. I guess not a big disappointment. The place has decent size rooms with newer modern furnishings and decor. The Bathrooms are simple but modern and clean. The service staff is very polite and non intrusive, and do a very good job cleaning and reviving your room for the next night. The pool and Hot Tub are well maintained and clean. The jets on the Hot tub are many more than most other hotels I've been at. And there is a slide for the kids. The pool isn't very deep but its okay for the kids and to splash around in. The vending machines were very expensive. The included Hot Breakfast was, again, one of the top compared to most other hotels around. There are safes on site making valuables a little more secure. But Im sure you could leave a diamond on the table and nothing would happen to it. It felt very secure and the people working there trustworthy. Special thanks to the manager Ron, who cares his customers and value the customers' feeling the most! We booked 2 two-queen-bed rooms on the Super8 website. However, Super8 only booked 1 two-queen-bed room, and 1 one-queen-bed room to Wingate. Apparently it's not Wingate's fault, but after listening to our situation, the front desk staff Ron arranged the second two-queen-bed to us! That we don't have to find another place in such night after hours of driving!! We are very grateful for Ron's arrangement and help! Their elevator seems not work well and we encountered stuck in there twice, but there's a phone in the elevator that we can get the management easily and fast. Problem fixed within few min. not too scary~~ The rooms are clean and with ample of space! Their swimming pool is not deep, but great for kids! Jets hot tub and gym available too!
